In Memory Of A Cloud

When you think of me tomorrow,

Please do it with a smile

For I’m the one who sheltered you

From burning rays up high

Please think of me as quenching

The flowers in their beds.

For they were slowly wilting

Before my rain I fed

And what about my shadow

I cast upon the land

So you could see the colours

That nature put at hand

Or how about the moonbeams

I chased up to the stars

So you could have the darkness

Your sleepy thoughts devours

So when you think tomorrow

Surely you will see

A friend that’s passing by you

Within the sky for free..

Is motion just time

Without measure or rhyme

Or is it a fix thought in space

For who is to say

It was not always that way

For science is merely a guess

And to those in the know

What have you to show

That you’ve grasped the meaning of time

For if motion stood still

There would be no time to kill

And this world would be fine.

Life in Reflection

I saw my reflection gaze back at the moon

Which sent down its moon beams in light ever true

And as I was standing right there on my own

I thought of the past that I had once known

What of it now where has it gone

Vanished forever as if in a song

A lament lost to nature that once there had been

A melody of beauty that danced in my dreams

Gone like the people whose time I had shared

Whose stories had finish and are no longer heard

But I will remember for that is my way

And smile with a tear as their thoughts float today

Out on that journey that brought them through time

Reflecting there gaze that once looked like mine

But now is just held in moonbeams.

Thought to Ponder – I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of people. – Isaac Newton
