The spring in all her glory
Just brought me to today
As the fading of the flowers
Leaves my heart in such dismay
The mist that hugs my vista
Is part of natures plan
But the sadness that I feel
Remembers who I am
Let me start at my beginning
For this feels like the end
As I wrinkle as do the petals
That once had been my friends
How I hate the thought of winter
That makes us all decay
May I live forever in springtime
And may it always be that way
But alas we must have endings
So we can make some space
As I return to the present
And take what I must face
A feeling that I’m slipping
Towards a brand new dawn
Beneath this naked tree
In the place that I was born
Now I snores oh so gently
With dreams that might just be
As I return to the present
Where my soul is now quite free.
