Skimming stones is easy
When you have the time
Perfecting how to throw them
While checking their design
The flatter shape is better
And always comes out best
The ones that seem so lumpy
Are the ones that you reject
But there’s really a big problem
Once you’ve thrown your stone
It may skip about quite nicely
And then the magic blown
For a stone it is not buoyant
And quickly sinks away
So you resume the searching
For more stones to throw today
It’s such a thoughtful pastime
And worries fade from view
While choosing stones for pitching
In a time that belongs to you

We all have faults and one of mine is sometimes I snore quiet loudly and despite putting a breathe right plaster on which doesn’t really seem to help. I still snore..

Snoring

Oh yes I’ve been caught snoring
a thing I do quite well
but to those who have to listen
it’s like a living hell
for the noise it sends a shiver
to those who want to sleep
as from underneath their pillow
they feel they want to weep
but really I can’t hear it
so to me my sleep is fine
and if sometimes I snore loudly
it’s how I’ve been designed.

Remembering

How well that I remember

When old was all brand new

As nothing in the future

To me will ring as true

The youth that’s all behind me

Is written as if in stone

As I sit here just reflecting

Like a dog that’s found a bone

The times when I was learning

Have stayed right in the past

And only life’s sweet memories

Are the things that seem to last

They say that every journey

Will stand the test of time

As I move forever forward

Down a path I’ve made as mine
