The light of the universe
The light of the universe is easily found
All you need do is just look around
It’s written on faces that give you a smile
It breezes through trees almost all of the while
It’s there in the ocean whenever it sways
And there on the land whose beauty conveys
It’s the kiss of raindrops on the flowers you’ve sown
The thought in your head when you finally reach home
It’s the glow of a moonbeam as clouds drift on by
The glory of nature that never will die
It’s life ever changing while looking the same
It’s the movement of people again and again
It’s the love of your family who greet you with joy
As the universal light we all do deploy
While searching for its source.

The night ride to sunrise
It happens in the dark
When sleep gives way to sunlight
And we wake just like the lark
To face another journey
Into the coming day
When who knows what adventures
Life will send our way
But what is really certain
Is everything will change
For all the time we are sleeping
The world it rearranged
Each second in its motion
Is nothing like before
Although sometimes we miss it
While rushing out the door
But maybe in a daydream
We will come to see
That we are mere spectators
In a world that’s meant to be.
