We live behind a smokescreen

To keep us out of view

So no one really sees us

In ways that are so true

We put on many faces

Each moment of our day

While deep inside we bristle

With what we have to say

We may appear quite silent

Like icebergs on the sea

But there below the surface

We are shouting to be free

Though shyness is our problem

And keeps us out of sight

One day we will expound

And surprise you with our light

Thought to Ponder – Scientists have found the gene for shyness. They would have found it years ago, but it was hiding behind a couple of other genes. – Jonathon Katz
