Two very different poems one the joy of a new day, the other a laugh at myself.

In the freshness of the morning
I gazed up to the sky
And watched the early sunrise
As it passed me by
I heard sweet nature’s music
That lilted through the trees
And saw the dripping dewdrops
Cascading from the leaves
I felt a sense of freedom
I’d never felt before
As if somewhere before me
There was an open door
A door into my future
With light beyond compare
Were waiting for me there
And then as if by magic
They simply disappeared
Along with all my worries
And all my silly fears.
For this it was a new day
That could not see the past
And the joys it will bring me
Are mine to keep at last

Ode to an Ego
Some say I’m photogenic
But really I’m quite shy
Though I do look good in pictures
Even if I don’t know why
Perhaps It’s down to fortune
That I look this way
With perfectly perfected
Bone structure on display
It’s good that I am modest
And never really gloat
About the gifts I’m given
From forehead down to throat
A petal of such beauty
A prize in natures den
Quick someone pass a mirror
So I can look again
Marvelous…..
