An unguarded moment
No hint of a smile
The camera it captures
The real you for a while
I know if you see it
You wont be best pleased
But really it has caught you
While you are at ease
The false smile that masks you
Each hour of the day
Has somehow gone missing
As your thoughts go a stray
Your hands clasped together
As if in a prayer
Talking to Angels
Who’ve come for your cares
The frown on your forehead
Like scripture conveys
This surely has been
Just one of those days
The daydream is over
The smile it returns
But somewhere inside you
Your soul it does burn
Burn for a promise
You left in the past
That’s this visit to earth
