I am not able to get at my archive at the moment but I have found a poem of mine from 2006 edition of Northern England Verses.

The trees they whisper to me

And here is what they say

We’re glad you came to see us

And stayed awhile today

Our leaves are slowly falling

To carpet on the ground

They deaden all your footsteps

As if you make no sound

No wind disturbs our  slumber

Or winter’s icy blast

For autumn’s on the cusp now

The season’s dice is cast

The days they grow much shorter

And soon we’ll go to sleep

But were glad you came to see us

And have your final peep

The worse thing about computers is when they fail to work for no apparent reason you are never sure which buttons to press, hence my computer is at the repair shop and I am re-educating myself to the qualms of my old laptop which I don’t think has forgiven me for casting it a side.

Thought to Ponder – “If only humans could die like the autumn leaves, with a splash of beauty and the promise of another season.”- Shana Chartier
