Here is a very personnel poem from me
The view from my back garden,
Toddy’s Wood
If I had the money
I’d plant myself a wood
I’d fill it with such beauty
And cherish it with love
I’d build a little cabin
Where I could live inside
To watch the many creatures
That came my way to hide
I’d plant a million bluebells
To cover all the floor
And ferns of different sizes
With fronds and plumes galore
I’d send for a host of fairies
To keep it nice and neat
So they could clear the branches
For birds to sit and tweet
The trees would grow so quickly
That all would be amazed
To hear the sound of breezes
As through each copse they played
Alas this is a wonder
I will never see
But perhaps someone will do it
And plant a tree for me

When people talk about what they would do if they won on the lottery etc.
This poem above explains my dream.
Way down in my garden
But not out of sight
I spied on a firefly
Adjusting its light
The more that it fiddled
It glowed in the dark
Until a passing moth
Was heard to remark
“Just trim that a little
Or else all will see
The brightest of meals
There ever could be”
The firefly was shaken
And then was heard to say
“But I use my light
To show me the way”
The moth he was puzzled
“What is that you say
For if you can’t see
Just come out in the day”
Its then that the owl
Just swooped out of a tree
And gobbled the moth
With relish and glee
The firefly so panicked
He quickly did faint
And the light that he carried
Went out without haste
The owl looked with interest
But never did stir
Towards the firefly
That did not move there
He’d use him tomorrow
He used him with glee
To find another moth
That he’d eat for his tea
Thought of the Day
“A society grows great when old men plant trees
whose shade they know they shall never sit in.”
