Think of me in colour
Never black or white
For my hues they are quite complex
And monochromes not right
Don’t try and fix a label
On what you think you see
For what is on my outside
Is but a bark upon a tree
This shell is just my carriage
For my treasures lie inside
And the skin that does adorn me
Is just where I reside
For I am a thing of colour
And neither black or white
And If you look beyond my wrapping
You’ll see my glowing light
It’s a vision of the love and caring
That with time I’ll spread around
A treasure from my soul
That surely will abound
For I am just a vessel
That sails the sea of life
On a journey to that heaven
That knows not black or white
