The Patterns On The Skyline

The patterns on the skyline
Say that snow is on its way
As chilly breezes gather
To sketch upon my day
I pull my scarf much tighter
As I snuggle to its charms
As winter in her passion
Collects me in her arms
She nibbles at my fingers
So I can feel that touch
That says I must keep moving
My life it seems so rushed
I hurry without thinking
Just what I’m passing by
When all at once I gaze up
To catch that starry sky
I stop and look in wonder
And take in all the view
Of a pattern on the skyline
That showed the night anew

SNOWDROP

PUSHING THROUGH THE SNOWFLAKES

INTO THE WINTER SUN

COMES A TENDER FLOWER

WHOSE LIFE HAS JUST BEGUN

IT GIVES US HOPE OF SPRINGTIME

WHEN ALL THINGS START ANEW

AS ITS TINY PETALS

STRETCH TOWARDS THE BLUE

IT’S JUST A FRAGILE FLOWER

WITH OH SO MUCH TO SAY

ABOUT THE JOYS OF SPRINGTIME

THAT SOON WILL COME OUR WAY

IT MOCKS AT WINTERS CALLING

WHILE IN THE SNOW IT STANDS

ITS DROOPING LITTLE PETALS

SWAY TO THE WINDS COMMAND

IT’S SUCH A THING OF BEAUTY

A GIFT OF PURE DELIGHT

BATHED IN WINTER SUNSHINE

IT ILLUMINATES THE LIGHT

IT MAKES THE MOST OF LIVING

IT DOES NOT HIDE AWAY

THIS TINY LITTLE SNOWDROP

WITH OH SO MUCH TO SAY
