He’s here again she whispered

As he walked in through the door

I know where he is going

In fact I’m pretty sure

It’s to gaze upon that picture

From oh so long ago

And marvel at it’s detail

As only an artist knows

He’ll take a seat right by it

But will not speak a word

As he views each little brush stroke

From a mind that’s seldom heard

For the world that lies before him

Is a scene that’s filled with life

Created by an artist

Whose vision was precise

For it captures every moment

Within times changing light

Stuttering Child

He sat so very quiet

just like he wasn’t there

He didn’t even whisper

as if he couldn’t care

His vocal chords were silent

no vibration from them came

He didn’t even whisper

Or tell no one his name

What was it he was hiding

Why did he live in fear

He only had a stammer

now let me make that clear

But his nerves had cost him dearly

as they made him stop and start

and though his mind was active

he just had not the heart

For to talk it was a challenge

A test beyond compare

and life in all it’s glory

to him seem so unfair

Then from out of nowhere

he began to sing

with a voice so soft and gentle

it rose like it had wings

and all that stood around him

simply gave a smile

and listened to the music

of a little stuttering child.
