It is nice when we get praised for doing something although sometimes it is more for our Ego than our reality. Here is a poem from my archives of 2006.

My praises

They’re singing my praises
It does make me smile
For I only touch base
Every once in awhile
The most times I’m stupid
I thought they could see
That I have no answers
Because I’m just me
My questions are endless
They torment my day
But I’ll keep on asking
I won’t go away
But the angels are patient
They will do all they can
And accept in this body
I’m only a man
For a saint is a vision
That one day i might be
In millions of lifetimes
In the service of thee
But people will look
And I can but try
To be at my best
‘Til the day i do die
For I am not frightened
Nor hasten that day
But live every moment
In gods loving way

As we could see bright Meteors in the night sky this week, here is a poem from August 2017

Meteors

Meteors dancing in the nighttime sky
Showing their beauty as they pass us by
Some come close but not to near
This time at least they bring no fear
Though maybe maybe one sweet day
They’ll knocks us out our orbit ways
Sending us to outer space
Where we will go without a trace
Then in the blink of that cosmic eye
We’ll be gone from the night time sky
Just who will morn our great loss
For most of space won’t give a toss
About a noisy neighbor

Thoughts to Ponder – Anything in any way beautiful derives its beauty from itself and asks nothing beyond itself. Praise is no part of it, for nothing is made worse or better by praise.- Marcus Aurelius
