A Cuban Sunset March 2014
My Garden Sunset
Another magic moment
Has come to me today
As I bask in late day sunshine
With nature in display
The quiet evening splendour
Is broken by a bird
Who sings its little heart out
In the hope he will be heard
Will he find a sweetheart
I’ll never really know
As I wander down the garden
While the sun retracts its glow
I sit beneath my arbor
And contemplate my day
As I watch another sunset
Slowly slip away
NO TIME NO PLACE
IT’S ALL A STATE OF BALANCE
BETWEEN THE THEN AND NOW
FOR TIME IT HAS NO CONCEPTS
OF HOWS OR WHERES OR WHEN
IT’S JUST A SILLY MEASURE
THAT WE’VE PUT INTO PLACE
SO WE CAN TRACE OUR MOMENTS
BEFORE THEY ARE ERASED
WE SPEAK AS IF WE’RE CLEVER
AT ALL THAT WE PERCEIVE
BUT ITS MORE ABOUT THE NOTHING
IN BETWEEN THE THINGS WE LEAVE
WE SIMPLE CALL IT BLACKNESS
AS IF IT WHERE NOT THERE
FOR THERE IS ONLY LIGHT
AS FAR AS WE’RE AWARE,
THE MATHS IS QUITE BEYOND US
BUT ONE DAY WE WILL SEE
THE PAST, TODAY, TOMORROW
ALL RESIDE IN THEE
Thought To Ponder – Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present. – Bill Keane
