It is amazing to watch progress slowly change the landscape around me as I get older with Schools, Pubs etc. being demolished and all manner of countryside being built upon not always I think for the better.
Lost History
We just sit and watch it
As our history disappears
Things we take for granted
Fall around our ears
Buildings that we’ve cherished
With stories in their walls
Tumble like confetti
As progress makes her call
Nothing it seems is sacred
As futures weave their spell
With no regard to yesterday
Or things we’ve loved so well
Perhaps we’ll take a photo
Before there gone for good
Like tree that’s in a forest
Is it really only wood
Magic in a Cuddle
There is magic in a cuddle
There is joy within a smile
It’s nice to drink in laughter
If only for a while
So cherish every moment
Of things that come your way
For life can be so fleeting
And we never count our days
So breathe in every second
And dance inside its charm
Then try to be that person
That gives out love and calm
The one that lights a room up
And greet each day with glee
As you travel on your journey
To a place that you should be
That little piece of heaven
That’s yours and yours alone
A haven of forgiveness
That only you can own
Idle Thoughts 6
To remember that first excitement of smelling flower you have grown from seed
Is to become a child again…
Looking through binoculars the wrong way
Is how most people see the world…
Driving at the speed limit now
I have become a moving chicane…
Just because the speedometer says a car can go at 100 miles an hour
Does not mean you are impelled to go at that speed…
Human nature never really gives value
To anything we appear to get for free
Until we lose it…
Thought to Ponder – Just remember, once you’re over the hill you begin to pick up speed.- Arthur Schopenhauer
Music on You Tube – Kings of Strings – Good time Charlie’s got the blues…
