YOU CAST YOUR SWEET PERFUME
AND I BECOME A VICTIM
AS IT LIFTS ME FROM MY GLOOM
I DANCE IN ITS AROMA
AS IT SERENADES MY HEART
FOR THE JOY THAT IT DOTH BRING ME
IS LIFE BEYOND REMARK
ITS MAGIC SCENT IT CALMS ME

Room 739
As dusk is slowly falling
To the tropics of the night
I see a flight of fruit bats
Towards the palms ignite
Other birds in numbers
Settle in a tree
Chattering between them
About the day that’s been
Then, as if by magic
All around is calm
Except for in the distance
Where some creature calls alarm
The clouds then part in structure
Revealing a sky of stars
While the sea is cloaked in darkness
Until the dawning starts
Blessed am I to see this
Blessed am I indeed
In a place of such sweet safety
Where natures left to breathe
