I think of you when the daffodils
Come up within my lawn
And remember when we planted them
For it seems no time at all
Now your breath has gone and mingled
With the wind that pushes change
And nothing of your body
Alas with me remains
But your love is everlasting
So it can’t be lost to time
And I’ll remember you forever
That long lost friend of mine
The one who heard my stories
Perhaps a million times
And laughed each time I changed them
For to embellish is not a crime
We spent so many moments
When we did not need to speak
And when I failed at something
You never thought me weak
What will I do without you
I have not got a clue
As I sit and watch the daffodils
And again just think of you.
