I have posted the Poem of the Month for August.
Cheeky Robin
How cheeky the robin that sits by my side
Exploring the earth where juicy worms lie
Watching my hoe as it turns over ground
Listening just listening for that wriggling sound
Patience just patience is all that he needs
For on a curious worm very soon he will feed
His beauty abounds with a glow that is red
As he sits oh so quiet and waits to be fed
By a waiter of worms namely me.
Listen while I tell you
Something you ought to know
The earth it started spinning
A long, long time ago
The angels pushed it faster
So it could dance in space
Until it found its rhythm
And then it took its place
Its place within the heavens
To glow out in the dark
So we could live upon it
And leave our human mark
LUNAR TIDE
THE WATER EBBS
AWAY FROM SHORE
THIS LUNAR CYCLE
IT CAN’T IGNORE
FOR IT MUST FOLLOW
WHERE TIDES COMMAND
AS IT DOTH RACE
AWAY FROM LAND
IT LEAVES THE SHORE
SO STARK AND BARE
TO THINK THAT ONCE
THE SEA WAS THERE
NOW ALL THAT’S LEFT
IS RIPPLED SAND
WHERE ONCE HAD BEEN
AN OCEAN GRAND
FOR NOW THE WIND
HAS TOOK ITS PLACE
AS THROUGH DUNES
IT DOES PACE
UNTIL AT LAST
THE TIDE DECIDES
IT CAN ONCE MORE
ITSELF RESIDE
UPON THIS SANDY SHORE
Thought to Ponder – “It is said that science demystifies nature, but scientists on the frontier are awed by the elegance and harmony of nature.” – Daniel C Matt
