In Between Lives
My cord with life is very strong
Although I know where I belong
To be again within that trance
Where all the angels do their dance
Spinning bright inside the light
That takes away the dark of night
While dressed in love from all above
And be caressed like hand to glove
Safely rocked as in a dream
With all the things that once have been
For nothing there can do me harm
So I can feast on all its charm
For heaven is a place of joy
Where souls can rest and not employ
The quests of lives to come.

Deep within my being
I truly long for here
Between the thoughts of bygone days
And a future so unclear
For whose to say tomorrow
will not leave me so sad
And longing for my yesterdays
when life it made me glad
But change so soon will happen
and there’s nothing I can do
Except adapt and flourish
as each day comes into view
Like trees that bend in stormy winds
I must do the same
While counting all my blessings
in my moments that remain
For the NOW is so important
that at last I really see
I’ve been given treasures
that just belong to me.
