Never Give Up

We all climb a mountain from the day we are born

Some can do it quickly other more foot worn

We wander up the incline with scarce a look behind

Until we meet a problem that stops us in our stride

We take a rest to think through what course we now must take

Then carry on regardless as if we’ve had no break

Each step it takes us higher than the one before

As we walk into the places we’ve never been at all

The air becomes much thinner and harder to inhale

So we climb a little slower for we know we must not fail

For heavens at the summit along with all our past

Where we can dwell forever within the light we’ve cast

It’s true that some will floundered and fall towards the start

Then take another body that just renews their heart

But one thing that’s for certain we never can give up

For the gift of every journey is wrapped within God’s love.

I’m Talking To Your Picture

I’m talking to your picture

and it does not answer back

I’m sifting through your wardrobe

to throw clothes into a sack

I’m hoping for an answer

to end this sense of loss

while evaluating each second

to take measure of the cost

my future’s unimportant

for nothing is the same

as time it marches onward

I know no ones to blame

we all have but a short time

to take this world by storm

as our journey slowly starts

on the day that we are born

we forget there is an ending

but now that day has come

as I sit and reminisce

about your love that’s gone

Plastic Grass

It’s the newest form of plastic

Although it looks like grass

They say it will last forever

And your garden will look class

Alas it’s just a mirage

As false as false can be

For it leaves no space for nature

As it covers soil with glee

You’ll never see an earthworm

Come up and greet the rain

While brushing off the autumn leaves

So they don’t leave a stain

Perhaps you’ll flag around it

Leaving spaces for the weeds

Then get some fancy chemical

That once you did not need

Now your gardens just another room

Without the need to mow

And you’ll miss the chance to exercise

So to the gym you’ll go

Now that’s called modern living

Were you haven’t got the time

To invest in something special

Like this lovely lawn of mine

An Angels Care

You hold me like a baby

On feathered lights of love

You show to me the beauty

That radiates above

You smother me with kisses

To keep me safe from harm

You whisper words so softly

And help me keep my calm

You sing to me of nature

And all its rhythmic ways

You tell me you’ll protect me

Throughout my life always

I don’t know why you do it

The way you show this care

But i would like to thank you

Because you’re always there

Thought to Ponder – You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection. – Buddha
