When stairs become an Everest
I’ll know I’ve had my time
And I’ll think of all the memories
That I have left behind
I’ll think about my heydays
When sport was just some fun
And digging around my garden
Was all about the sun
I’ll remember all the romance
That love and life had been
And all those magic moments
That came from out my dreams
The many varied people
Who crossed my path each day
While traveling on their journey
With egos on display
It seems just like a whisper
This little dance through time
Now I face this staircase
Which I know I’ll have to climb.
