Christmas’s Remembered
We miss old friends at Christmas
If they are not around
The laughter from their voices
It was a cheery sound
The joys of singing carols
With words all of our own
And dancing around the kitchen
To the latest pop stars tones
The passing of each present
That Santa’s sack would bring
We’ll hold these thoughts forever
And all the love they’d bring
We’d toast in every New Year
Each time the numbers changed
Then wish the best to all things
As new futures we would claim
The house is now so empty
For parties they are past
But we’ll have all those memories
Of friends that we’d been cast
Reflections Run In Circles
Reflections run in circles
Replaying all our time
What seems today a new thing
Is a past that’s redesigned
Each thought that wanders by us
Has surely been before
Although we can’t remember
The circle stirs once more
Even all the faces
That now comes into view
Are souls that are remastered
To start a life anew
The face that I’m reflecting
Could tell a million tales
Of lives that’s been successful
With joys I can’t regale
For memories they are fleeting
And will not stay inside
Like reflections of a circle
That spin forever wide.
A Christmas Wish
Oh Angels, sweet Angels
We’re praying to you
To bring out the best
In all that we do
Please let us be caring
And so full of love
And pass on the beauty
That comes from above
Let Christmas be gentle
With peace, calm and joy
And have all the best things
That God can employ
May friendship and family
Encompass each day
As we celebrate Christmas
In our own way
And though it won’t matter
Just what faith we choose
We’ll pass on these gifts
That mean we can’t lose
The light that is your Christmas.
