Bluebells Nod As I Pass By

Hoping that, they’ll catch my eye

For spring is here without surprise

As sleepy shrubs they come alive

Birds at dawn so sweetly sing

And bring a newness to all things

Old Jack Frost has given way

In time for springs seedling display

What magic from the soil will grow?

Only nature’s thoughts will know

Right now a Peris waves its flowers

Resplendent in its chosen hours

Forget-me-nots burst in array

As sunlight on their flowers play

Now winters gone and in the past

And spring is here again at last

To tempt us with her beauty.

Body Change

I thought that you might keep me
but it does not look that way
for you think that I’m old fashioned
in all I have to say
but just because I’m ancient
does not mean I’m wrong
for I’ve heard these words I’ve spoken
in a million different songs
for life it has a rhythm
that often plays a tune
that sounds just so familiar
as in our head it looms
but maybe now my tempo
has lost all its appeal
as you change for something newer
and swap me with such zeal.
