Now I can get into my archives properly I shall be picking random Poems from the past few years which I think deserve another outing.
A Salvo of Love
They never spoke of caring
Not once as I recall
They showed such little feelings
Well did they love at all?
That sat in different places
And never side by side
To say they were a matching pair
You’d truly think I’d lied
But love it knows no boundaries
Nor follows any code
For sometimes you don’t notice
Those signs that go untold
They’re lost within my history
Two faces from my past
Whose love it spread around me
With all the joys it cast
For childhood never shows us
The way things truly are
To have such special parents
I must have been their star.

A World with No Borders
If the world it had no borders
And land and sea were one
I wonder in which language
We’d speak to everyone
Maybe we’d just be silent
Or say things with a smile
That we’d pass onto each other
For mile and mile and mile
For a smile conveys such beauty
It has to be returned
Not like a thing of status
That we think we should have earnt
For the best things on this planet
They come entirely free
Just like this smile I’m wearing
That I give to you from me

Thought to Ponder – “Above all, don’t lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.” – Fyodor Dostoevsky
