A quiet Christmas drink

A Quiet Pint

Barrack room lawyers

That stand at the door

Pontificating theories

About life and law

For nothing escapes them

Or all of their wit

At social occasions

They’re really no hit

For science and soaps

It is their domain

While I drink my pint

They seem such a pain

For this is my time

To put into place

All of the things

That I’ve had to face

Instead I’m bombarded

With dross by the score

My only escape

Lies out of the door

Away from these

Barrack room lawyers
