A Closed Mind
There seems to be a pattern
To everything I do
From waking up each morning
To how I speak to you
Each hour has a purpose
Though some are hard to find
As I wrestle with these questions
That seems to cross my mind
The answers can evade me
Despite the way I think
But some knowledge
Is not for learning
At least that’s what I think
For it might distort my patterns
I follow everyday
And convince me in a moment
There may be another way.

A Lullaby Prayer

There is a gentle stillness
As you drift off to sleep
When the action of the day
Has nothing left to reap
The daylight which has bathed you
Now fades into the night
And a quiet hushful silence
Calms the air in flight
The moon whispers its presence
While kissing all the clouds
As shadows dance around you
Adorning walls  so proud
Alas you will miss these moments
For you will be asleep
Lost in the gentle stillness
Where your soul it wanders free

A Mindful Moment

Despite the distant noises
A calmness filled the air
Where once there was some movement
A stillness lingers there
The only thing in motion
Are the fingers on a clock
Beating out each second
As slowly it tick tocks
The nakedness of nature
Can take you by surprise
As clouds they swirl in layers
And captivate the eyes
No words can show this vision
No paint or picture to
For a mind it has such clarity
To take in all this view
I’m mindful of this treasure
Who knows what price I’ll pay
As I bathe in this a sweet moment
At the beginning of my day

Thought to Ponder – Mindfulness is about love and loving life. When you cultivate this love, it gives you clarity and compassion for life, and your actions happen in accordance with that.- Jon Kabat-Zinn
