I awake to look for sunshine
That hides within the dawn
But alas I see just rain clouds
In a sky that’s so forlorn
It seems those rays of sunshine
At this moment can’t come through
So they wait beyond my vision
In a place that’s filled with blue
They hide just like the starlight
That once engaged my night
In the space that holds the cosmos
Away from earths sweet light
So I gently pull the duvet
And snuggle down with glee
To wait until the sunshine
Stirs the day in me
