Your time of life

Well once it was the children

I washed and put to bed

But now that time has flew by

I find it’s me instead

I never really noticed

Just when this came to pass

That I put on my jim jams

Just after tea has past

Outside the children are playing

Without a single care

While I make myself some cocoa

Before I climb the stairs

These days I get so tired

And find I’m slowing down

But still I think of yesterday

And the way I’d run around

To live again those moments

To watch the rising sun

And be up really early

Just as the dawns begun

Those lovely secret moments

That comes but once in life

When family and friends

Invade your time of life.

Thought To Ponder – “it is one of the commonest of mistakes to consider that the limit of our power of perception is also the limit of all there is to perceive – Charles Webster Leadbeater

WINDMILLS

I THROW MY CAP AT WINDMILLS

WHOSE PADDLES SPIN AROUND

ARCHING THROUGH THE BREEZES

WHOSE GUSTS THEY DO ABOUND

I THROW MY CAP AT FARMERS

WHO PLOUGH THEIR FURROWS DEEP

IN PERFECT LINES OF SYMMETRY

FOR AUTUMN CROP TO REAP

I THROW MY CAP AT HEDGEROWS

WHO OFFER BIRDS A CHANCE

TO NEST AND HAVE THEIR BABIES

UPON THEIR TWIGS AND BRANCH

I THROW MY CAP AT RAINDROPS

THAT MASK THE SKY WITH GREY

AND QUENCH THE LITTLE SEEDLINGS

WHILE IN THE FIELDS THEY LAY

I THROW MY CAP AT INSECTS

WHO GO ABOUT THEIR DAY

TO POLLINATE THE FLOWERS

WITHIN THEIR GIFTS OF PLAY

I THROW MY CAP AT MOONBEAMS

WHO DANCE ME IN THEIR LIGHT

AND GUIDE ME TO MY HOMESTEAD

SO I CAN REST TONIGHT

I THROW MY CAP AT NATURE

FOR ALL THE THINGS I SEE

THAT MAKE ME FEEL SO CARED FOR

AND DRESS MY LIFE WITH GLEE
