That Angel by my side
I bet you he is smiling
And has been for a while
You see I made a promise
To speak to him each day
And call upon his knowledge
To help me on my way
For my life is full of options
And paths that I can take
And he lets me take decisions
As he follows in my wake
His wings are wrapped around me
To keep me from all harm
Indeed if you believe it
He is my lucky charm
A gift beyond a value
A friend beyond compare
Who’s just right here beside me

SKATING CLOUDS
GUSTING BREEZE IN A LEADEN SKY
THAT MAKES THE CLOUDS
SKATE ON BY
WHICH DRIVES THE RAIN AGAINST
MY HEART
AND LIKE MY TEARS EACH DROP DOES SMART
THEN PULLS MY BREATH AND CLEANS MY SOUL
AS IT RENEWS MY COSMIC GOAL
IT CUTS THE CORDS
THAT HOLD ME BACK
AND FILL MY LIFE WITH THINGS I LACK
TO GENTLY SWIRL AND SPIN AROUND
AND ALL AT ONCE CREATE THAT SOUND
THE NOISE OF MY SOUL DANCING
Sunset on a Cloudy Day
Nothing could be further
Within a cloudy sky
Than the beauty of a sunset
As upon the day it dies
The sea reflects no colours
But simply fades from view
For not even one small moonbeam
Can penetrate the gloom
The air it seems so heavy
It drifts just off the ground
And rabbits in their burrows
Refuse to make a sound
Its best I just retire
And call upon my sleep
For I think at any moment
The sky will start to weep
For time is on the ebb now
Lost within the day
That clouds masked the sunset
As from my life it fades
