Please let me see the Angels

The ones that bring me love

That bless my waking moments

With joys straight from above

Who kiss my very being

The one that holds my soul

And treats it like a diamond

It’s beauty to behold

Who think of me as someone

Who’s worthy of their time

While dressing me in music

That’s made with strings divine

Who’ll lift me when I’m weeping

And dry my every tear

The ones that I shall carry

Because I feel them near

If only I could see them

I hope that they would see

That as a mere mortal

They mean so much to me

I’d ask the lord to bless them

And keep them in his care

Because I know forever

For me they’re always there.

Once Captured

This moment once captured

Is now in retreat

Lost in the past

Just like your heartbeat

The pixels remind me

We once had our day

But like every second

They just fade away

No time to surrender

To stock out my thoughts

For I have no knowledge

Of the time I have bought

So I look to the sunshine

To lift up my day

And to what is before me

All that I can say

Is I’m on my journey

But I know not where

And for how long it lasts

I have not a care

Though when you do see me

I’ll look quite alone

But I’m on my journey

To find my way home

Lewis on Patrol

It takes a lot of effort
to keep these humans safe
no wonder I feel tired
always moving at this pace
they seem to think its easy
to stand here on patrol
little do they know
it takes an awful toil
no wonder I feel sleepy
I’ll have to have a break
to let those human wander
I knew was a mistake.

Thought to Ponder – “Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.” – Christopher Hitchens
