We all climb a mountain from the day we are born
Some can do it quickly other more foot worn
We wander up the incline with scarce a look behind
Until we meet a problem that stops us in our stride
We take a rest to think through what course we now must take
Then carry on regardless as if we’ve had no break
Each step it takes us higher than the one before
As we walk into the places we’ve never been at all
The air becomes much thinner and harder to inhale
So we climb a little slower for we know we must not fail
For heavens at the summit along with all our past
Where we can dwell forever within the light we’ve cast
It’s true that some will floundered and fall towards the start
Then take another body that just renews their heart
But one thing that’s for certain we never can give up
For the gift of every journey is wrapped within God’s love.
